Join Our Virtual Event

Our Story
We are a group of 11 UTS students completing one of the final stages in our degree. We have been tasked with the challenge of creating a not-for-profit event that will raise money for a charity or cause of our choice.

Our event inspiration is more easily explained in a story.

'Its a cold, rainy Thursday in the middle of Covid-19 lockdown and you suddenly decide its a great idea to start the kitchen clean out. You are going to categorise and order EVERYTHING!
The process begins and you start cleaning everything from the shelf, item by item you are surprised that you still own half of this stuff.
And then you find it.
A can... in the back left hand corner...
The date on it....
3/6/2011
oh no.
How could you have not seen this for 10 years, that cannot be right!
You have bought about 50 of this can since 2011.'

Alright don't lie this has happened to you.

2020 recorded the largest quantity of food waste in Australia to date. According to FIAL, our country wastes 7.6 million tonnes of food each year, 70% of this is perfectly edible.
Food waste costs households $2,000 - $2,500 per year. Food waste costs our economy $36.6 billion a year.
Feeling sick yet? we are...

These statistics were more than enough to direct our event focus to the notion of living resourcefully during lockdown.
We discovered our charity Alex Makes Meals in the early stages of our planning and found that their cause, values and branding aligned perfectly with ours. From here the development of a virtual cooking class began.
And now here we are - you're on our website , no doubt looking for tickets and we are well into the process of raising money for a good cause!

How good.
